and the state of Texas you have to be a paramedic by law and also firefighter it's been like that for 10 years maybe 15 years of a maximum
Thanks for your video. I have a question, and would appreciate your insight.
I’m 20 years old, have my fire 1&2, and am a paramedic. I work part time for a smaller combination part time/paid call dept.
When I was 15, I was arrested for retail theft. I was not convicted of this, and it was resolved non-judicially.
I was stopped by the loss prevention workers because I was past the register, but inside the store without paying for some sticky notes I had in my hands (not in pockets or anything). They explained to me that this was technically shoplifting, as soon as you’re passed the register.
I wasn’t trying to steal anything, I simply wasn’t done shopping.
Since then, and prior to, I have no police contacts including speeding tickets or parking citations.
Do you think this will be problematic on my background at a career department?
Secondly, should I get my juvenile record expunged? I’m eligible to without even going before a judge because I was never convicted – I don’t want it to look like I’m covering something up though.
Hey I applied for a firefighter positions ,I don't have the best grades in school and worry most about the academics but I'm physically fit and have no criminal record ,how well is my chance ,my interview is in a few days

Hello dear can the non immigrants become the firefighter
The fire department I’m applying require high school transcripts. Will having low grades affect my chances because I had low grades in high school because Of my learning disability and I didn’t take my meds because the way it make me feel and I was worried about my health long term .

I am from Namibia and i already completed my FF1 and EMT trainings.just waiting for my town council to start hiring
So me personally I have a minor misdemeanor on my record. I got it at 18 I am now 19 it wasn’t anything big at all. It was a marijuana charge but on my record it’s just labeled as drug abuse. I definitely plan on explaining to the department I go for that it’s not something I did regularly nor is it something I do now or plan to ever do again. I’m actually about to start in a fire rescue program in August to get all my certifications needed. My question is do you think this would be a problem for getting a job or even getting into the fire rescue program because I’ve passed the testing to get in I just have to get my background check done and I’m a little nervous
This is by far the most helpful channel on how to prepare for the firefighting hiring process. Thank you so much Chief Guccione for sharing your wisdom with us! I look forward to taking your full oral preparation class in the future.
Cpat test is before the interview
It's all fine and dandy to stand up there and tell the thousands of hopeful firefighters to "be honest, tell the truth"… But my best friend did that when the Chief asked him a question about an event at the Fire Hall. Had he lied, he'd still be a firefighter. He did exactly what YOU are preaching in this video, and guess what, his dream of being a firefighter is OVER !! He fell into deep depression, alcoholism, and drug abuse. His Chief never even backed him up, or supported him. So people, you need to say whatever it takes !!!! Remember, if you do, it's your ass sitting in the fire hall, on the fire trucks, not sitting at home, jobless, and depressed !!
My job history isn’t the best

I want to be a firefighter but I also want to paint and make clothes, I’m figuring out if I can do both.
I made it pass the oral board, Polygraph, and fingerprint. I received an email sayin they already selected candidates an I’m eligible for a year in the hire last but that year has passed. Am I pretty much done to where I’m have to wait on them to start the process all over. Again?

Hello, you said that some FD dont require much more than the basics; drivers license, 18 years of age, etc..
Do you know of any such FD? Or any good states that hire the most?
Might be a dumb question but its worth the shot
in background do they automatically dq you for using cocaine or mushrooms once in ur life at a young age?
Just took my test today hopefully I get the interview in October!
I’m 17 and aspire to become a fireman but I don’t know if I can do it.
Unfortunately the background eliminates so many candidates. We need to get to them in High School, by the time I get them in College their choices have buried them.
